Watch or read: How to export from PubMed

To export records from PubMed:

  1. Ensure that your EndNote Library is open. Undertake a search in PubMed.
  2. Select the record(s) you wish to export to your EndNote Library.
  3. Select the Send to button.
  4. Select Citation Manager.
  5. At the Selection pull-down menu, choose Selection. (Note: Other export choices are available; up to a maximum of 10,0000 records at All Results).
  6. Select Create File.
  7. Follow the prompts on your browser to open the file. Select EndNote 20 or Research Soft Direct Export Helper > then OK.

FYI - Some browsers may save the record to a taskbar or download option. The best first option is to select the file in the taskbar or download folder to push the export to the EndNote Library; the next best option is to choose EndNote 20 or the Export Helper to open the file.
