This page provides instructions on how to directly export references from GALILEO and individual EBSCOhost databases. The instructions are the same because GALILEO is powered by EBSCOhost and has a very similar layout.
Quick Steps: Search > Add records to folder > View folder > Select items > Export > Export to RIS option > Save > Follow prompts in browser. |
Step-by-Step:
Ensure that your EndNote Library is open. Undertake a search in GALILEO, Augusta University Libraries discovery search, or in any EBSCOhost database.
Add your desired records to a temporary folder, by selecting the light blue folder icon to the right of each desired record. The folder icon will turn yellow.
Go to the folder by selecting Folder on the top right-hand menu bar:
If you saved only one type of source, e.g. journal articles: They will all appear in the middle.
If you saved a combination of resource types, e.g. journal articles and eBooks: The articles will appear in the middle. You need to select the category on the left under the "My Folder" icon to access the saved resources of that type. For example, you would select the eBooks category which is under the "My Folder" icon on the left.
Select your desired records - you could individually select records or select all. Select Export and ensure Export to RIS is selected (it is the default, top option). If not, select that option.
Select the Save button on the left-hand side. Follow the prompts on your browser to export the records into your EndNote Library. If you use:
Browser | Instructions |
---|---|
Chrome | A pop-up window of your folder directory will appear > Save (doesn't matter where) > delivery.ris file should download > Select delivery.ris file |
Firefox | A pop-up window of 'Opening delivery.ris' will appear. It should default to Open with ResearchSoft Direct Export Helper (default) > Save > OK |
Internet Explorer | A pop-up bar at the bottom of your screen will appear, prompting "Do you want to open or save delivery.ris from..." > Open |
The references will now appear in the Imported References folder.
Tip! If you have time, check your references now for any style mistakes and edit the references if necessary. Highlight reference, right-click, and select edit to open full editing mode.
Tip! If you create a free EBSCOhost account, you can permanently save your records to your EBSCO account.
