Cite While You Write (CWYW) is a toolbar which should automatically be installed into Word and PowerPoint programs after you install EndNote X8. CWYW connects your EndNote desktop Library to your Word document and your PowerPoint presentation so that you can insert in-text citations efficiently. Once you insert an in-text citation using CWYW, a full reference for that citation will be automatically generated at the end of your document or presentation. This page explains how to use Cite While You Write (CWYW) in MS Word.
Initial Start-Up:
> Select the reference you wish to insert.
You can select multiple citations by holding down the Ctrl key and selecting them with your mouse.
This EndNote Training (2014) video tutorial shows how to insert citations in a Word document using the Insert Citation button and also using the Insert Citations command. This is the latest video on this topic by EndNote Training. Q. What is the Author-Date system?
A. In the Author-Date system, you cite references to all material you have used as sources for the content of your work within your text (Flinders University, 2006). These are known as 'in-text citations'. Full publication details need to be given in a reference list at the end of the text (Flinders University).
Different citation styles vary in the formatting of the Author-Date.
