Scholarly Commons requires authors/creators to sign a License Agreement:
Augusta University Libraries receives the non-exclusive right to archive and disseminate your work through their campus repository
Copyright remains with the copyright holder
Scholarly Commons will clearly identify your name(s) as the author(s) or owner(s) of the content.
Adhere that the work submitted is original and you have the right to include it in the repository (i.e. the work does nto infringe upon another's copyright)
A copy of this agreement is available upon request.
Scholarly Commons Administrators are ready to help you with any concerns you have submitting to the repository.
Copyright
The administrators can help you determine copyright restrictions on your published work.
Sherpa/Romeo provides information about journals' copyright and institutional archiving policies.
If you cannot determine the journal's copyright policy on including published works in an institutional repository you may contact the Scholarly Commons administrators to assist you in determing this policy.
Metadata Development
Administrators review the metadata, whether submitted via the quick submission form or through manual submission, to ensure internal and national metadata standards are met. Additional metadata may be generated to improve the visibility of your record.
Item/Record Concerns
Once a record is submitted to the repository it will not be removed
If a concern over copyright or another major issue is raised once a record has been deposited, the file associated with the record may be suspended or made unavailable but the record and metadata will remain.
If the item removal is permanent then a note will be added to the record.
Metadata errors can be corrected after the record is published in Scholarly Commons.
