The Notetaking feature assists with your research by allowing you to take notes in eBooks. Taking notes will automatically save the eBook to your bookshelf.
From the page of the eBook where you would like to leave a note, click on the notes icon in the toolbar.
Enter your note text in the field provided and click the Save button.
Your saved note will appear in the Annotations list organized by page number.
Click the note to go to that page in the eBook.
To delete the note, click the trash can icon in the Annotations list.
Click the X in the upper-left corner to close the Annotation area.
The Highlighting feature assists with your research by allowing you to highlight areas of importance on eBooks.
From the page of the eBook where you would like to highlight, click on the highlighter icon in the toolbar.
With the highlighter selected, hover your mouse on the first word you would like highlighted, click, and drag to the last word.
When you release the mouse, a small tool bar will appear that allows you to choose the highlighter color, copy the selected text, or add a note. Choosing a color will highlight the selected area in that color.
Your highlight will appear in the Annotations list organized by page number.
Click a highlight to go to that page in the eBook.
To delete the highlight, click the trash can icon in the Annotations list.
Click the X in the upper-left corner to close the Annotation area.

It's easy to sign up for Ebook Central. On the Sign In page, look for the button to Create Account.
Ebooks can be read online or downloaded. Ebook Central gives the user the option to download a chapter or the entire book. You will need Adobe Digital Editions on your computer, tablet, or mobile device to download an entire book, but if you download a chapter, it will be in PDF. Obtain Adobe Digital Editions for free via the link below. Some ebooks may not be available to download, depending on the license agreement we have for the number of copies we can lend out.
