Description: | Built in the 18th century on the southwest corner of Greene and McIntosh (now 7th) street. It was originally an inn called the Planter's Hotel and was the place the Marquis de La Fayette stayed when he visited Augusta in 1825. The house was moved to Pine Needle Road at Comfort Road in 1930. This photo was used in Yesterday's Augusta by A Ray Rowland and Helen Callahan published in 1976. 11.5 X 9 cm B&W Original Snapshot |
