Travel Information

Atlanta Airport Shuttle Information

Once you leave your arrival gate, take the train to Baggage Claim.  Ride the escalator up one level to the main terminal.  You will see a greeter holding a sign that reads “NLM Georgia Biomedical Informatics Course.”   Refer to the “Where to Meet” document below for a terminal map indicating where to meet the greeter.  You will need to check-in with your greeter then go to Baggage Claim to pick up your luggage.  Stay with or around your greeter until all shuttle passengers have arrived.  The greeter will escort you to the shuttle.  It is located down the south escalator to the south lower level outside of exit LS2.   Both the greeter meeting area and the shuttle boarding area are noted on the “Where to Meet” document.

What is the dress code? 

Business casual/Casual. We are in a casual setting in the north Georgia mountains.  

What are attendance expectations?

This course is an immersive experience and full participation in ALL day and evening sessions is expected.

Do I need to bring my own laptop or will one be provided to me?

Participants will be provided a laptop - MAC or PC depending on the preference they selected in their application.

Will you help me fill out my Veterans Administration forms?

Can I bring a guest?

This course requires your attendance for the duration of all sessions, meals, and activities. Spouses, friends, children, pets, etc., cannot be accommodated unless there is a documented, medical reason to do so. We appreciate your cooperation.

Continuing Education Credits

Augusta University Division of Continuing Education will award continuing education credits for health professionals enrolled in the NLM Georgia Biomedical Informatics Course. Credit hours are based on hours of instruction and are available for a variety of health care fields including, medical (CME), nursing (CNE), dental (CDE)  and allied health sciences (CEUs).  Course participants must indicate the specific credit needed for maintenance of licensure on their registration form and complete documentation for attendance and course evaluations.

Medical Library Association (MLA) Continuing Education credit is also available for librarian attendees based on hours of instruction.  Librarian attendees can request CE credit on their registration forms and must complete MLA attendance and course evaluations forms.

Continuing Education Credit Statement

Accreditation: The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation: The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University designates this educational activity for a maximum of 36.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Dentists: Augusta University Dental College of Georgia is a recognized ADA CERP provider – ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. The formal continuing education programs of this program provider are accepted by AGD for Fellowship/Mastership credit. The current term of acceptance extends from 01/01/14 – 12/31/17. This course has been designated for 36.5 continuing education credits

Nurses: The Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University Division of Professional and Continuing Education is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the SC Nurses’ Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on  Accreditation.  36.5.

For Other Health Care Professionals: This activity includes 36.5 hours of instruction.  Attendance at the entire workshop is approved by Augusta University for a maximum of 36.5 continuing education contact hours or 36.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).  One CEU equals 10 contact hours.
