Research Consultations

At a research consultation you’ll meet with a librarian to discuss your project, goals, skills, and the resources available for your topic. The consultation will begin by assessing where you are in your development as a researcher, determining your goals, and addressing what questions you have about the research process. Some of the topics we will cover include literature reviews, managing citations, or individual research project needs.

To prepare for the consultation, please bring the following information:

  • Develop a brief statement of your project, including your research topic and pertinent details.
  • What research skills do you currently posses? What do you need help with most?

During the research consultation, we will discuss:

  • How to sharpen your research question
  • How to find resources through Augusta University Libraries
  • How to conduct literature reviews
  • How to manage citations
  • Individual project needs

To make an appointment for a research consultation email libref@augusta.edu.

Citation Management Software

What is citation management software?

Citation management software provides users a way to organize references/citations for research projects.

Why should I use citation management software?

Managing references/citations for research papers is often a time-consuming and complex task that can often involve multiple systems. Using citation management software allows the collection and organization of references/citations into a single system. Some systems even allow project sharing to facilitate group collaboration.

What citation management software are available?
