Meet Nightcrawler, Marshmallow, S'mores, Patches, Midnight, and Oreo
S'mores (upper left) is the most neurotic of the crew and hides in the closet most of the time. Nightcrawler (middle top) is a chunky-monkey of a cat. She never meows- she squeaks! Patches (upper right) is shy but has the cutest raspy meow ever. Oreo (lower left) is Midnight's sister. She hates to be picked up but loves to cuddle with me every night. Midnight (middle bottom) is a friendly chonk that weighs 18 pounds! Marshmallow (lower right) was rescued outside of Reese Library last October. He and Nightcrawler are friends, and he talks all the time! He also expects breakfast to be served promptly at 6am.

Binx is named after Thackery Binx from "Hocus Pocus" and Sylvester named after Sylvester from the Tweety Bird/Sylvester series. Binx was a stray cat who came to live with me three years ago. He followed Sylvester home one day. Melissa Johnson would leave food out for Binx because he looked sickly. He only weighed 7 lbs, was losing his hair, and had runny eyes. One day when he came around, he was showing his appreciation for the food I left him and accidentally bit my toe. Melissa was afraid I'd need rabies shots! Melissa finally caught him two weeks later, took him to the vet, and had to keep him quarantined for two more weeks. Thankfully, he didn't have rabies. He has since more than doubled his weight. Melissa discovered that he is part Maine Coon and is the sweetest fellow to people he knows. He's still scared of strangers.

Madison is timid & wears cute diapers. Blu is deaf & SO laid back ("But pet me forever; never ever stop!").

Born under the desert sun of Tucson, AZ, Woofie is a force to be reckoned with. Few have embodied the old adage of giving 110% like Woofie. Everything he does is extra. He barks extra hard. He eats extra hard. He sleeps extra hard. Don't let his Tina Turner hair fool you, this diva knows how to Hulk out: his 22lbs of furry fury and his superpower of separation anxiety have allowed him to break out of all cages, crates, and daycare facilities.

Broch was a shelter rescue Gail Kouame adopted in 2016. He is an American Bulldog/Lab mix (although people tend to think he's a pit bull, which he's not). I had never owned a dog before, but had been around a lot of friends' dogs. He has his "personality quirks," but has been a joy to have in my home! This photo was taken for a calendar that was sold as a fundraiser for Team Stinkykiss Animal Shelter and the Crosby-Miller School of Dance in Aiken, SC.

Charley is the boss of the house and takes her responsibilities very seriously. At 70 pounds, Sky is scared of the wind. They both love belly rubs and taking naps, but they each have their own music requests on car rides. Their favorite snack is uncooked noodles and their favorite movie is what are the neighbors up to today?

Bowser is a rescue dog from Molly's Militia. He is very sweet and loves to be cuddled, even though he's larger than a lap dog. Bowser also enjoys meeting new people, especially if they scratch his ears and/or give him a treat. This photo was taken on our first visit to the veterinarian.

Born on June 27, 2008, Smudge was the second of five kittens of a stray mama (Boots) in our subdivision. He was shy in the beginning but has slowly become more outgoing as he has gotten older. Smudge takes his responsibility as oldest seriously. (His older brother Alpha passed away in June 2009.) He is a loving gentle giant that the other cats love to snuggle.
Peanut was the third of five kittens born on June 27, 2008, to a stray mama (Boots) in our subdivision. Right from the start Peanut has been a super loving boy. He can't get enough of his adoring public and can charm anyone into doing whatever he desires.
Born on June 27, 2008, Stripe was the fourth of five kittens of a stray mama (Boots) in our subdivision. In the beginning Stripe was a tomboy who didn’t have a lot of time for snuggling. As the years have gone by she has mellowed and loves to get and give head bonks and lots of love.
Inky was the fifth of five kittens born on June 27, 2008, to a stray mama (Boots) in our subdivision. She is a super sweet girl that can get into and out of the tightest of spaces. Her grandpa Paul calls her his Ninja Girl.

Meet Stormy, Pusheen, & Pip! Cuddly, stuffed friends of Josette Kubicki, Reference & Instruction Librarian at Reese Library. Ok, so these companions may not be live, but they are furry!
Jo and her husband don't currently own pets as they like to do a lot of traveling (although not so much these days), and it would be hard on both parties. But Stormy, Pusheen, & Pip keep them company! Pusheen especially likes to hang on the table behind Jo's "office space," keeping her accountable while she was working from home during the pandemic!
