Pure Research Profiles: Adding Name Variants to Your Profile

This guide offers an overview of AU's research profiling system, Pure and how to manage profiles.

Name Variant

Researchers person name has been synchronized from Augusta University's HR system.  Researchers can update their personal profile and add name variants.  Adding name variants allows Scopus and other databases to find your publications.  

1. On your Personal Profile page, at the bottom of the page Log in to Pure using your NetID.

2. Under My portal profile: click on Edit Profile...

3. Chose "Add name variant..."

4. Using the dropdown menu, chose the type of name  variant (Default publishing name, Former name, Known as name, ect.) Add First name and Last name, click Apply.

Former name--the name you were used to be known as, for example before or during marriage

Default publishing name--the name mostly used by you while publishing

Known as name--this is used to find yourself in Pure

Portal sort name--this is used to sort in Pure
