The Arsenal: Augusta University’s Undergraduate Research Journal: Author Guidelines

This guide offers information and the submission form for The Arsenal. The Arsenal is a student-run, peer-review research journal sponsored by CURS and the AULibraries.

Author Guidelines

  • The primary (first) author of the submission must be an Augusta University undergraduate student. 
  • Submissions of manuscripts based on presentations given at conferences, such as the Phi Kappa Phi Student Research and Fine Arts Conference or the CURS Brown Bag Series are encouraged; however, previously published submissions and works currently being considered by another journal will not be accepted.
  • Submissions pertaining to research on human subjects, including administered surveys, IRB (Institutional Review Board) approval is required for publication.
  • Authors are encouraged to view the rubric used for reviewing submissions (attached below). 
  • Style: APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition
  • Language: English
  • File Format: Microsoft Word 
    • Contact The Arsenal if your work cannot be read in Microsoft Word (e.g., LaTex for Statistics and Physics)
  • Abstract: 150-250 words
  • Length: 2,000 - 6,000 words
  • Documents to Submit:
    • Title Page: Authors must upload a separate title page including author's name, affiliation, mailing address, telephone number, and email address. No identifying information should be included in the original manuscript
    • Manuscript: APA formatted manuscript without identifying information
    • Faculty Mentor Consent Form: Signed copy (see attachment below)
    • If submitting Images: Embed images in the document where you would like them to be placed AND submit the images separately
