Common Mac Keyboard Shortcuts

Copy: Command-C

Paste: Command-V

Screenshot: Shift-Command-3

Print: Command-P

Save: Command-S

Find: Command-F

Cut: Command-X *

Undo: Command-Z

Redo: Command-shift-Z

Select all: Command-A

Force quit: Option-Command-Esc **

 

*Copies cut section to the Clipboard.

**Opens a menu of active apps to force quit. Hold down for 3 seconds to force the front app to quit.

Logging Off

1: Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of the screen and select the "Log Out" option at the bottom of the flipdown box.

2: You will be asked to confirm or cancel the request to log out. You my either click the "Log Out" icon in the bottom right hand corner of the window, or you may wait a minute to finish logging out. If you do not wish to log out, click "Cancel." If you check the "Reopen windows when logging back in" box, any applications you have open when logging out will open bak up next time you log in.

For your own security, please make sure to log out whenever you are finished using the computers.

Right Clicking Using Mac

On a mouse:

Hold down the Control key when clicking.

OR

Click using the upper right corner of the Apple mouse.

On a trackpad:

Place the cursor over an item and tap the trackpad with two fingers.

Printing

1: Click on the "File" tab on the top left of the screen and select the "Print" option. Alternatively, press command-P or the printer icon if you are printing from Microsoft Word (as shown surrounded by a black border).

2: This will bring up the "print" window. From here you can choose which printer you wish to print from by clicking the "Printer" flipdown box and choosing AU BW for black and white or AU COLOR for color printing.  

3: By clicking the "Copies & Pages" flipdown box and selecting "Layout," you are given the option to format how your document will appear on the page.

4: You may choose how many copies of your document that you wish to print by putting the desired number into the "Copies" box. In the box below that, you can select whether to print all pages of your document, just the current page, a section of pages, or specific pages and sections. Once you are finished, click the "Print" button to continue.

5: Finally, you will be prompted to enter your Augusta University username and a title for your print job. Once you are finished, click "Print" and the item will be sent to the printer.
