A liaison librarian is a faculty member of Reese Library formally designated as the primary advocate between the University Libraries and an academic unit. Librarians are assigned to each area based on their educational backgrounds, experiences, or personal interests. This type of library service connects the library with our professional colleagues, staying in tune with their needs, providing continuity of contact, and keeping them informed.
The primary objectives of the liaison librarian program are to foster collegiality through consistent communication, provide leadership in collection development, promote excellence in reference and education services, and assess library programs to ensure support of curricular and research needs of Augusta University.
Liaison librarians provide information literacy instruction for face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses. Potential topics covered during instruction include:
