ENGL 1101 - Lawson: Find Books

Brief guide on doing background research for an argument paper.

Catalog Links

Google Books

Search for books that have been digitized by Google.  If the book is out of copyright, or the publisher has given permission, you'll be able to see a preview of the book, and in some cases the entire text. If it's in the public domain, you're free to download a PDF copy.

Library Catalog

When looking for books, government documents or videos held by Reese Library, you should use the online catalog. We have two versions of the online catalog available - GIL and GILFIND. GIL is the traditional, old style online catalog that has been around for a number of years. GILFIND is an overlay to the catalog that is more modern and includes various Web 2.0 features such as tagging, favorites, book covers and more.

What's the difference between GIL and GILFIND?

Your GIL Account

Each enrolled student at Augusta University has an account in our catalog system.  Use it to track books that you've checked out (and keep up with the due dates!) and items that you've requested from other libraries.
