As an independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. Previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, ISACA now goes by its acronym only, to reflect the broad range of IT governance professionals it serves.

Cybersecurity is a top priority in the financial industry to ensure the security of customer assets and information and the efficient, reliable execution of transactions within markets.

The threat of cyber attacks is all too common. While retailers place extremely high priority on data security and invest tremendous resources to prevent attacks, cyber-criminals are persistent and their methods of attack are increasingly sophisticated. Enhanced security measures help to thwart attacks, but unfortunately some attacks have been successful and the resulting incidents can affect millions. Recent successful attacks against retailers, technology companies, utilities and even the most sophisticated government agencies have understandably focused public attention on cybersecurity and data privacy.

The task force will examine risks posed by criminals, terrorists and nations that hope to steal personal and financial information, disrupt critical infrastructure, and wage a new kind of warfare on a battlefield of ones and zeros.

Founded in 2007 by former Senate Majority Leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole and George Mitchell, the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is a non-profit organization that drives principled solutions through rigorous analysis, reasoned negotiation and respectful dialogue. With projects in multiple issue areas, BPC combines politically-balanced policymaking with strong, proactive advocacy and outreach.

The Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) works to improve information security, data protection, and privacy programs across the higher education sector through its volunteers and focused partnerships with government, industry and other academic organizations.

USTelecom supports federal efforts that enhance our national cybersecurity capabilities. The USTelecom Cybersecurity Working Group (CSWG) and our Framework for Cybersecurity Legislation are two examples of successful collaboration on this issue.
