Please Note: Only Principal Investigators (PI) can check the compliance status of manuscripts using their My NCBI account.
To see whether your publications are compliant or not, go to My Bibliography and click the link “Manage My Bibliography.” From the “Display Settings” drop-down menu select “Award” view, and click the Apply button. The default sorting option with Award view is “Public Access Compliance” (as shown in the image below), however, you may select the sort option you prefer. When selecting “Award” under Grouping the citations associated with awards will be listed first.
Each citation will be marked with a visual clue indicating their compliance status.
Citations marked with a green check mark and which include a PMCID are in compliance and no action needs to be taken.
Citations marked with a yellow dot have been submitted and are in process. Action may or may not need to be taken by the submitting author.
Citations marked with a red dot are non-compliant.
If a citation is marked with a question mark, the compliance status cannot be determined. You can edit the status to provide additional information about these citations.
Citations marked with N/A were accepted for publication prior to April 7, 2008 or fit a category that is not covered by the NIH Public Access Policy. If this is correct, no action is necessary.

Please Note: Only individuals designated as an Institution "PACR" can monitor compliance through the Public Access Compliance Monitor
The NIH Public Access Compliance Monitor provides an institution with the current compliance status of all journal articles that are associated with the institution and fall under the NIH Public Access Policy.
To gain access to the compliance monitor, users must first be assigned a “PACR” role by an administrator at their institution who is authorized to assign roles in NIH’s eRA Commons grants administration system. Users with a PACR role have access to the compliance reports for their institution.
